#MW2015 Workshop: Hands-on Video Ideation and Production in Museum Settings

MW2015 Workshop: Hands-on Video Ideation and Production in Museum Settings | April 8th from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm
Agnes Stauber, LACMA, USA

This workshop will guide participants through the process of producing interpretive media for museums, from ideation through collaborative decision-making inside the institution to the actual production of a finished video.

A show-and-tell by the workshop leaders of common media formats that are being produced by museums (including audio guide stops, audio tours, interpretive videos, and promotional videos) will be followed by a deep dive into the process of conceptualizing and creating media. While production timelines, technical aspects, and conceptual context will be thoroughly discussed, an emphasis will be given to generating a focused content plan and learning interview techniques—keys to producing meaningful, narrative content. Camera and editing gear will be provided for the project groups.
