Abstract: | Collection managers, digital strategists, and interactive designers have pushed museum content creators to produce standardized, turn-key content for exhibitions and other collection-related projects, be they internal inventories, collections online, or digital interactives. We shoehorn curatorial content into CDWA, CCO, VRA, and Dublin core structures to produce organized checklists, orderly timelines, unified catalogues, and countless other digital interactions intended to inform and inspire our visitors. What have we learned? That museum scholarship is ever increasing and constantly shifting. Digital catalogues must be as agile and responsive as our researchers’ minds. |
