Contract Opportunity: Public Programs Assistant at Smithsonian American Art Museum and Renwick Gallery in Washington, DC

The contractor will support public programs in a hybrid capacity, both onsite at the museum and online in a team-based environment, and assist Smithsonian American Art Museum personnel with tasks in support of producing and executing public programs for both adult and family audiences.

You will provide staffing support for programs such as virtual studio tours, scholarly lectures, women-artist-focused events, and programs reflecting a commitment to marginalized groups. The contractor will also be responsible for producing the slate of programs associated with the Renwick Invitational 2023: Sharing Honors and Burdens, which presents a fresh and nuanced vision of Native American art. These programs, and the work to support them will occur both onsite at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and its Renwick Gallery, as well as online.

Work shall begin after November 1, 2022, and be completed on or before October 1, 2024, at 40 hours a week, for a total of 2,880 hours. Price not- to-exceed $75,000 for 18 months of work.
