Digital Public Library is looking for great candidates for its Community Reps program. We’re accepting applications for our third class of reps until Friday, Feb 13, and we hope to include new voices from the museum community.
Community Reps help DPLA with outreach activities and special projects using their professional knowledge. One of our goals in the next year is to form a stronger network in the museum world. Museums reps will help us think through the ways we engage with museums and museum professionals, network for DPLA at museums conferences, help us develop apps and play with our data, and more.
We have 120 reps from the first two classes who come from many professional worlds: public libraries, academic libraries, historical societies, higher education teaching, K-12 instruction, technology groups, genealogy groups, and museums. The program has so far been very successful at engaging a broad community around DPLA’s open mission.
The time commitment for reps is small–emailing with DPLA staff, an intro webinar, and 1-2 activities a year.
Please contact franky@dp.la with questions about the program or application.
