Senior Manager, Human Resources

The Senior Manager, Human Resources (HR) serves as a resource for approximately 300 full-time, part-time, and student employees at the Hammer Museum. The incumbent ensures Museum compliance with state and federal employment laws, Museum policies, and University personnel policies, procedures, and union labor agreements. The position delivers a comprehensive human resources program, including but not limited to recruitment, compensation, organizational planning and structure, staff development, retention, leaves of absence, employee and labor relations, benefits administration, performance management, discipline, separation and training and development.
The Senior Manager, Human Resources works in consultation with the Director, Finance and HR and serves as an internal consultant and coach to all levels of Hammer staff on personnel issues. The Senior Manager, HR helps to foster a workplace environment consistent with the Museum’s values and mission statement and ensures proper execution of all human resource activities and initiatives. This position will collaborate on long range plans and organizational development and on labor budget reporting, payroll transactions, and other fiscal activities.
