Head, Interpretation, Digital Learning, and Evaluation

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is looking for a Head, Interpretation, Digital Learning, and Evaluation. This position provides vision and leadership for three distinct yet interrelated functions in the Education Division. In collaboration with curatorial and design colleagues, s/he oversees the strategy and processes for interpretation for exhibitions and the museum’s encyclopedic collection interpretation. The position directs digital learning initiatives across the Division expanding visitor learning and engagement through new platforms on and offsite. The Head supervises evaluation and visitor research across the museum, supporting the institution in using data to address essential questions and communicate impact. Working in collaboration with curators, designers, and IT staff, the Head, Interpretation, Digital Learning, and Evaluation brings knowledge of visitor behavior and learning, current museum research, and evaluation methodology and practices. This position supervises a department of 5 FT staff and reports to the Director, Education and Interpretation.
