Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) seeking Online Content Manager

Overview

In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, the Online Content Manager is responsible for the creation and implementation of strategies related to:

  • eNewsletters
  • Social Media
  • IMA website
  • Online marketing campaigns

Essential Job Functions

eNewsletters

  • Develops strategies and manages implementation of an active and dynamic email marketing calendar. Works with multiple departments to produce content and manage overall schedule
  • Develops and implements targeted strategies to support email acquisition, cultivation and retention of subscribers
  • Reports campaign metrics and actively monitors results through tracking
  • Implements tactics to consistently improve open rates, click through and other metrics

Social Media

  • Manages social media presence for the IMA, in collaboration with overall marketing plan. Maintains online “voice” of the IMA.
  • Engages IMA audiences on all social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+, Tumblr and others
  • Defines metrics for engagement and success of strategies
  • Implements tactics to improve results and grow online audiences
  • Researches and evaluates rapidly changing social media platforms that may support IMA efforts

Website

  • Creates and edits non-interpretive content for the IMA’s website in a timely fashion
  • Communicates regularly with all departments to ensure their content is represented accurately online to broaden public’s understanding of IMA offerings
  • Works closely with the IMA Lab team on the creation and implementation of strategies for presenting content to online visitors and expanding the IMA’s online presence
  • Manages and creates content for IMA blog
  • Performs scheduled SEO audits to ensure best practices are being implemented

Online Marketing Campaigns

  • Collaborates with Director of Marketing to determine the best strategies for online advertisements

Education/Experience

College degree in Marketing, Arts Administration, Journalism, English, Public Relations or a related field.

Proven history and success with social media management.  Strong knowledge of online platforms.  Experience with online tools including Hootsuite, Mail Chimp and WordPress and basic HTML knowledge. Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.  Google Analytics certification is required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Superior written communication and editing skills. Ability to track and maintain budgets.
