The museum’s Information Technology department seeks qualified candidates for its Collection Information Software Developer position. The Collection Information Software Developer is the museum’s technical specialist for administering, expanding, and integrating collection information systems to meet the museum’s digital strategy goals. Areas of responsibility include the museum’s collection catalog, digital asset management, and the library automation systems, as well as development of custom applications/modules and mobile apps.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, information science, or a related field; two to five years of direct experience administering high-availability collections management systems, digital asset management systems, and/or integrated library systems; and proven experience with SQL Server and Sharepoint, Oracle, and/or MySQL administration. Candidates’ technical skill sets should include C#, ASP .NET, XML/PHP/HTML authoring, shell scripting, and API integration; mobile development using J2MEs or Objective C; and familiarity with collection-oriented meta-schemas, including CDWA, DCMI, VRA, ITPC, MARC, MARCXML, and EAD. The Collection Information Software Developer is part of a collaborative Applications Team, which includes subject-matter specialty analysts and developers.
