Museum Educator II, Kentucky Historical Society, Frankfort KY
The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) is looking for an enthusiastic colleague with a passion for history and a drive to engage visitors with museum collections, exhibitions, and experiences. Utilizing a network of KHS colleagues, this energetic person will provide high-quality experiences and standards-based resources for the school audience.
The Museum Educator II will work closely with the Teacher Programs Manager to implement on-site, off-site, and virtual programs that address Kentucky Academic Standards for Social Studies, as well as trends in museum education. With a focus on the K-12 student group, the goal of the Museum Educator II is to develop, facilitate, and evaluate educational experiences through Kentucky history. The position plays an integral part in the Learning division of KHS to help their colleagues throughout the organization succeed and to fulfill the mission of the Kentucky Historical Society. This is a full-time position located in Frankfort, KY, that reports to the Teacher Programs Manager. This is an unclassified (non-merit) position pursuant to KRS 18A.115(1)(u) and is a Monday-Friday position requiring some travel with occasional night and weekend work periods. The annual salary for this position is $30,476.11 and includes benefits of health and life insurance with optional dental and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement, paid annual and sick leave, holidays, and optional deferred compensation plans.
