Senior Digital Content Planner at Qatar Museums (Doha, Qatar)

The Senior Content Planner ideates, monitors, coordinates and supports the timely creation and publication of content across all of Qatar Museums’ (QM) digital media channels as required. Reporting to the Head of Digital Content, the Senior Content Planning  will support the implementation of QM’s digital strategy by scheduling and organising the creation and publishing of text and media content onto QM’s digital platforms, ensuring that the channels are dynamic, engaging and in sync with wider communication and strategic efforts. The Senior Content Planner will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across QM’s estate to facilitate content planning, production and publication.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Senior Editorial Specialists to ensure QM content is aligned with the needs of target audiences and will result in QM channels being dynamic, engaging and in sync with wider communication and strategic efforts
  • Works closely with the Head of Content to determine and schedule an optimal rolling publication programme that aligns with QM’s overarching timelines across venues and initiatives
  • Leads a team to contribute ideas to QM editorial/content tactical delivery to meet business needs and strategic objectives
  • Owns the digital content publication schedule, ensuring content is published on time and in-line with communication plans
  • Liaises with a wide range of content providers across QM to gather necessary assets
  • Builds and maintains good relationships with all QM parties to support effective communications and a streamlined approval and publications process
  • Manages and process content requests coming from all QM parties
  • Manages the request workflow process and any associated documentation
  • Identifies suitable images to illustrate content that can either be gathered or commissioned
  • Liaises with external agencies and suppliers as required to ensure content is delivered on schedule
  • Highlights any bottlenecks or blockers causing the posting of content to be delayed
  • Proactively works with the team in order to resolve bottlenecks or blockers to ensure content is always posted on time
  • Proactively seeks to improve processes, introducing and maintaining efficiencies in a small team environment
  • Coordinates with the analytics team to report on posted content and help focus efforts on content that has most audience appeal based on the analytics
  • Owns the approvals process, ensuring content is signed off and published to an agreed timeline
  • Ensures content has the appropriate rights clearance for publication on digital channels
  • Ensures content posted adheres to QM’s editorial guidelines and quality standards prior to publication
  • Leads a team of 5 content planners

Experience and Skills

  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience with related responsibilities, including creative content planning preferably within a culture, heritage, arts or media organisation
  • Experience in content production for a large-scale website with fast turn-around requirements
  • Experience with content ideation and production for a range of digital outputs
  • Experience in managing a cross-functional team
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in content production for multilingual products
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and resolution skills
  • Critical understanding of digital platforms and emerging trends
  • English fluency required, Arabic fluency desired
