The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Senior Web Designer to lead and manage the web team, and oversee the development and strategy for the design of the NGV website and other online and digital resources.
The role requires a strong technical skillset and experience in both front and back end web development and programming, a broad range of current web technologies and development platforms, and an exceptional eye for user interface design and navigation. A high level of experience in WordPress development will be an advantage.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
You will be responsible for creative ideas, new concepts, design, technical development and implementation of the NGV website and related web and digital content production projects, including mobile web apps, interactive exhibition displays, digital signage, marketing and social media outputs, and audiovisual content channels. Other key responsibilities include:
- Managing the web team by aligning the team with the organisational values and goals through effective people management and modelling.
- Managing and leading web, online and digital projects, products and services, including liaising with NGV departments and stakeholders.
- Participating in creative collaborations to design and wireframe interface designs based on media, marketing and curatorial briefs.
- Performing research in web design and development advances, and ensuring innovative and progressive web technologies, design techniques, and development frameworks are implemented in NGV web projects.
To be successful you will have an approved degree or diploma in Multimedia, Visual Arts, Graphic Design or related disciplines, coupled with extensive experience as a web designer and developer as evidenced with a strong portfolio, and experience in managing web teams and projects.
