The Visitor Experience Lead oversees Frontline Ambassadors and volunteer staff for daily operations, public programs, and special events. The VE Lead assists the VE department with administrative duties and projects as assigned.
Frontline Ambassadors direct, assist, engage, and monitor patrons in a positive, courteous, and professional manner to provide a seamlessly-welcoming visitor experience. Primary responsibilities include, serving as an information resource on all facets of the Museum, including exhibitions, artists and artworks, public programs and events, membership program, ticketing, and communicating policies.
Requirements include the following: exceptional customer service abilities; ability to engage patrons in a positive, professional, and courteous manner; ability to exercise good judgment; ability to maintain calm demeanor in challenging situations; excellent written and oral communication skills; polished and professional interpersonal skills to interact and effectively deal with Museum VIPs, Museum and University staff and students, and visitors of diverse backgrounds; flexibility with working hours and scheduling; ability to work evenings and weekends. Preferred: interest in museums, arts, culture, and/or art history; prior experience working in a theater setting and/or special events. Approximate number of hours per week: 15-18*.
