Web Manager, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

The National Institute of Holocaust Education, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is seeking to hire a Web Manager responsible for managing the production workflow and the day-to-day administration of the Museum’s web portfolio.

This is a federal full-time appointment with benefits. Salary Range – GS-0301-14, $106,263.00 to $138,136.00. Salary is commensurate with experience.

– Serves as the primary point of contact for web production resources, negotiating project schedules, deliverables, and resource allocation.
– Identifies, recommends, and prioritizes new web features and applications in conjunction with senior managers and the institution’s strategic priorities.
– Coordinates with content creators and project managers from across the Museum on web projects, and liaise with systems experts on hardware and software issues that affect the website and its availability.
– Builds graphics, slides, audio, video, and/or animation for organizational products, websites, intra/extranets, and training material. Participates in the development and integration of graphical and multimedia components into the website.
– Plans and executes usability studies, contextual interviews, usability testing and surveys and collaborates with project managers, to capture audience needs.
– Develops and manages spending plans and budgets for web related projects as needed. Develops and formulates budget justifications to justify and support funding requests.
Provides customer support to Web users across the Museum. Provides guidance and expertise on creating accessible web products, provides expertise in content management systems, and communicates with other project stakeholders regarding web activities.
– Supervises a staff of technical and administrative individuals. Plans work to be accomplished; develops performance standards and evaluates performance; makes decisions regarding delegated personnel matters such as hiring, promotions, performance awards; employee development and training; minor disciplinary actions; leave; and other human resources related matters.
– Tracks and evaluates new standards, technologies and trends in website development, design and delivery.
Provides input into operating policies and long-range planning for the expansion, improvement, and security of collections of great historic significance through the use of digital media.

Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. Your experience must include demonstrated performance in the areas related to web analytics and their applications, website content management and usability, architecture, and website development and design.
