Anouska Samms


Anouska Samms is a research fellow working on the V&A research project Content/Data/Object. Her role involves investigating how digital objects are recorded and articulated within the the V&A itself and conveyed to its wider publics. Beyond the distinctions of just hardware and software, she will focus on how an understanding of digital materiality fits within traditional museum practices and even challenges them. Anouska's areas of interest include sensory ethnography and the materialities of the seemingly intangible. Anouska is a researcher and artist, with a background in public engagement, and social and community research. She graduated from The University of Westminster with an honours degree in Film Production, holds an MA in in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths, University of London, and has exhibited work at the New Orleans Film Festival and Mana Contemporary Chicago.
