Courtney Johnston

Courtney has been the director of Hutt City Museums (compromising the contemporary art gallery, The Dowse Art Museum, and the local social history museum, the Petone Settlers Museum) since November 2012.rnrnPrior to this Courtney spent two years as general manager of Boost New Media, a software and web development company specialising in cultural sector projects, and before that five years working on various web projects at the National Library of New Zealand, including DigitalNZ.rnrnCourtney is a current board member of Museums Aotearoa, the umbrella group for New Zealand museums, and a past member of the National Digital Forum board and the Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand advisory group. She holds a MA in Art History and is a certified Scrum Master but her blue belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu is her proudest accomplishment.
