Carla Everstijn is doctoral student in the College of Communication and Information at Kent State University. Her areas of specialization are human information behavior and media, technology, and society. She holds master’s degrees in interpersonal social work (Indiana University) and library and information science (Kent State University). In addition to extensive experience as a university lecturer, Carla worked for many years as a mental health practitioner. Throughout her career, she has also held positions in the publishing industry and is currently a freelance writer and editor. Carla's research interests include misinformation and political communication, collective memory, and affective experiences of cultural heritage.
