Chiara Zuanni
The University of Manchester

Chiara is a research assistant at the Institute for Cultural Practices, University of Manchester, and a research fellow at the Institute of Cultural Capital, University of Liverpool & Liverpool John Moores University. She holds a BA in Classics and a MA in Archaeology from the University of Bologna and, prior to coming to the UK, she worked in museums both in Italy and in Germany. She has recently completed a Museology PhD at the University of Manchester. Her thesis investigated how diverse narratives of the past existing in the public sphere influence museum professionals’ and visitors’ engagement with archaeology in the galleries and in online interactions with the museum websites and social media.
She is interested in the impact of cultural practices on professionals’ expertise and on public engagement, especially in relation to digital media. Her research interests are in the fields of archaeological representations, the history of public engagement with the past, museum histories, visitor studies, social media analysis, and digital anthropology.
