Manu Mathew Thomas is a graduate student in the Computational Media department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He works in the Creative Coding lab exploring deep learning techniques for creative applications. His research interest includes interpretability of deep learning models for computer graphics, ray tracing, real-time rendering and visualization. Before joining the Ph.D program, Manu worked at Intel’s advanced graphics research group doing deep learning based ray tracing research. Manu has a Masters of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago where he worked in the Electronic Visualization Lab (EVL) on several visualization projects.
