Dr Nicos Souleles (Associate Professor) is the coordinator of the 'Art and Design: elearning lab - design for social change' (www.elearningartdesign.org). He has a PhD in educational research (Lancaster University), focusing on elearning and design education. With over twenty-two years of academic experience in design education, he has extensive experience in innovative curricula development, having undertaken and supervised successfully this process in Australia, UK, United Arab Emirates and Cyprus (For example: Cadet-based Master, Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate for Interactive Multimedia, industry-based and externally validated in Sydney, Australia). He is a member of the advisory committee for the MA in Computer Assisted Language Learning (https://goo.gl/GqDJ49), and was external examiner for Liverpool John Moores University and University of East London (2002 - 2007). He developed and currently delivers at CUT the undergraduate cross-disciplinary module ‘Design for social change, innovation and social entrepreneurship’. In 2005, he received £20,000 funding from the Art, Design, Media Subject Centre (HEA) for the writing of a report on Distributed E-Learning in Art and Design in Higher Education in the UK. He has written on design education, instructional technology and design for social change in peer-reviewed journals, and chairs the international steering committee of iHE (iPads in Higher Education, http://www.ipadsinhe.org). He coordinates World Design Day Cyprus (www.worlddesigndaycyprus.org). Since 2017, he is Head of Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts (Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts) at CUT. Currently, he is an evaluator/assessor (paid position) for the Ministry of Education in Cyprus for the recognition of university qualifications obtained outside the country, and sits on the university quality control committee that is answerable directly to the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (http://www.dipae.ac.cy/index.php/en/).
