Museo Reina Sofía

The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, beyond safeguarding, expanding andrnexhibiting its collection of artworks, also looks to promote knowledge and public access torncontemporary art in its diverse manifestations, maintaining a continuous programme ofrntemporary exhibitions and setting up education, research and study activities.rnrnThe Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía faces new challenges in a world wherernpresent realities, for instance new communication dynamics and social relations, or thernestablishment of a global economy, are profoundly transforming the art system, particularly inrnits most visible facet: the museum.rnrnThe most visible nucleus of the institution and the discourse it generates is found in itsrnCollection and exhibition programme. That said, the Museo also plans other actions (publicrnactivities, education and mediation, publications, conservation and restoration, media, etc.),rnthat are indispensably interwoven into this nucleus and with one another, forming part of arnholistic and interdisciplinary concept of culture, and its forms and agents, which is able tornoptimise the resources that nurture it.
