Sarah R. Smith is director of marketing and communications at Reynolda House Museum of American Art, where she oversees Museum advertising, publicity, publications, and electronic communications. She established the Museum’s first social media presence in 2008; today the Museum is active on multiple online platforms and is quickly becoming a leader in use of social media to engage audiences with the launch of its new digital wing, reynoldahouse.org, in 2013. Sarah was a member of the Museum's steering committee for strategic planning in 2009, and contributed to development of Museum’s strategic plan which still guides the Museum today. She is a 1998 magna cum laude graduate of Elon College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism, and earned a master’s degree in liberal studies with a focus in communication from Wake Forest University in 2005. She was recognized as a "Top 40 Under 40" leader by the Business Journal of the Triad in 2011.
