Professor Angelina Russo is the Associate Dean Research in the Faculty of Arts and Design. Prior to this she was Director, Higher Degrees Research in the School of Media and Communications (RMIT) (2010 - 2013) and a Chief Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence in Creative Industries and Innovation (2005 - 2011).rnrnHer research practice explores the intersections between cultural collections, media, and design. She has research partners in major cultural institutions around the world and supervises candidates across a number of different subject areas which are drawn together through their investigations into new modes of knowledge production in museum studies and communication design. She is recognised for the research and practice which she has undertaken in social media for museums and innovative participatory practices. She is currently developing a new stream of research which draws together design and making communities with museums.rnrnAngelina is a co-founder and Director of Museum3, a not for profit organisation with over 4000 members. Museum3 began as a social network for cultural practitioners and now provides one of the deepest archives of the history of the adaptation of social media in the sector. Through Museum3 she has hosted a number of national and international HDR candidates undertaking reserach in the field of digital cultural communication.rnrnShe has graduated from an MBA in Higher Education Management at the Institute of Education, University of London. She is a former ARC Post Doctoral Fellow (2007-2010) and a former Queensland Premiers' Smithsonian Fellow (2004).
