Hookk Daria


Senior Analyst at the Department of Archaeology of Eastern Erope and SiberiarnDaria Hookk received a degree in Cybernetics from the Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University in 1992. In 1997-2008 being head of the Computer and Information Technologies Department of the State Hermitage Museum in Saint-Petersburg (Russian Federation), she accomplished some big projects with the help of Oracle technologies and Russian Foundation for Humanities. First one was the museum data base “Atlant (Atlas)” for the collection management, second one – the archaeological GIS “MonArch”, and then, multimedia databases “The War Gallery of Winter Palace” and “Digital History of the Hermitage”. All of them gave rich material for her PhD work on Mathematical Linguistic. Also, the museum computer animation and video development as an information support of the exhibition started at that time. Daria Hookk is also member of ICOMOS and ADIT (CIDOC in Russia). Since 2009 she became Scientific Researcher (Senior Analyst) at the Eastern Europe and Siberia Archaeology Department, in 2012 she organised the First International Conference on Virtual Archaeology, the became editor-in-chief of electronic journal "Virtual archaeology" on http://www.virtualarchaeology.ru rnrn
