Forbes Hawkins has worked at Museum Victoria for over 25 years, most recently as a collection information systems and online developer. In the late '90's he created one of the first mobile collection barcoding systems which is still in use at a number of museums around the world. Over the past decade he has moved into intranet and online development, and recently has worked on projects that aim to assist members of the public and small museums to manage their collections. Participating in Museum Victoria's slow move into the digital age over the past two decades has built his appreciation for the power of online technologies to redefine museums and transform communities.
