Greg Albers


Greg Albers is the digital publications manager at the Getty, leading an effort there to publish digital books, develop open source publishing tools, and build a community around digital publishing at the Getty and elsewhere. Greg has spoken and taught about digital publishing and technology extensively, including for Museums and the Web, the National Museum Publishing Seminar, AAM, and MCN, for which he has also served on the Board of Directors. He is also one of the founders and moderators of the Museum Publishing Digital Interest Group. Greg began his career with museums in 2001 at the MFA Boston, and then in 2002 took over as publications manager at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. In 2007, Greg left the Gardner to start Hol Art Books, an independent press publishing writing on visual art in both print and digital editions. He came to the Getty in 2013.
