Jennifer Poleon is an award-winning former magazine editor turned arts and nonprofit professional for the Columbus Museum of Art where she spearheads the museum’s digital strategy and social media engagement efforts. Jennifer was responsible for the development of the museum’s first mobile app, award-winning mobile site, and creation of unique ways to encourage engagement. Poleon leads the museum’s pioneering, multi-departmental mobile photography initiative, and under her guidance, CMA was the first museum in the world to present a curated installation crowdsourced through Instagram. She is an award-winning writer, and former Editor for Ohio and Columbus Parent magazines. In addition, she has taught digital publishing and design on the university level; helped co-found a college newspaper; and is currently serving as a board member for Dine Originals Columbus. In 2013 she was selected for the Next Generation of Leaders in the Arts Program for her innovative work merging digital and social media. She is the organizer for CMA’s recent #MobilePhotoNow exhibition, a worldwide crowdsourced Instagram exhibition that is the largest mobile photography exhibition ever presented by a museum.
