Director, EdTech Leaders Online
Kirsten Peterson, an experienced online instructional designer and project manager, brings 16 years of expertise in developing and supporting online professional learning communities and managing, scaling, and sustaining online learning programs. Peterson serves as Director of EDC's EdTech Leaders Online (ETLO), a capacity-building online learning program that was the 2010 winner of the International Association of K-12 Online Learning Award for most innovative online learning program. Nationwide, Peterson leads ETLO's teams of online curriculum developers, instructors, media developers, and technical specialists in providing custom online development and consulting services, delivering graduate-level training programs in online and blended learning, and expanding a catalog of over 70 online courses for educators. Recent development projects include online high school courses with Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art; an online communication system for the Massachusetts Adult Basic Education professional development program; teacher and student training for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme Online; and online course development for Boston University’s Clinical and Translational Research Institute. She serves as the lab instructor for Web-Based Communication Strategies for Public Health Interventions, a graduate course in the Boston University School of Public Health’s MPH program. She holds a BA in English Literature from Montana State University and an EdM in Technology in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. When she is not online, she likes to run, ski and spend time with her family!
