Matt Krc

Matt Krc is the Digital Initiatives Librarian in the Department of Digital Initiatives and Services at the Newberry Library. Drawing on his background in data curation, Matt has designed a number of digital tools and programs for the Newberry, and he was instrumental in facilitating DIS's shift from Omeka-based digital exhibits to the Scalar content management system. More recently, he has developed a collection of resources for the Newberry's Mellon-funded multidisciplinary project Religious Change and Print, 1450-1700, including a crowdsourced transcription project, Transcribing Faith, which has received international attention. Matt holds a B.A. in Journalism from Loyola University Chicago and a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
