Martha Ladly, PhD rnrnMartha Ladly is a Professor at OCAD (Ontario College of Art & Design) University in Toronto, Canada, where she specializes in teaching, research and program development in interactive media, art, and design. She has recently held positions at OCAD U as Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, Director of the Interdisciplinary Master’s Program, Chair of the Research Ethics Board, and Leader of the development of the Digital Futures Graduate Program. Martha’s PhD in the philosophy of technology tackles historical and contemporary issues of technology and gender, as they relate to women and the arts. Martha is a researcher with the Mobile Experience Lab and an investigator with the GRAND (Graphics, Animation, New Media) Canadian National Centre of Excellence, and the Centre for Innovation in Visualisation and Data-Driven Design (CIV-DDD). She is an author and editor of numerous articles and books on digital art, technology, design and entertainment. In the 1990s Martha was the Head of Design with Peter Gabriel’s Real World Group in the U.K. and in the 1980s she had a prominent international career as a recording artist and performer. Martha is currently pursuing her research on a Visiting Fellowship with the European University Institute in Fiesole.rn
