Monica Baldassarri


Baldassarri Monica holds a PhD in Medieval History and a “specializzazione” degree in Archaeology of Late Antiquity and Middle Ages, and she has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pisa. She is a scholar engaged in research projects about Medieval and Postmedieval Archaeology, that she carried out in different areas of the western Mediterranean (Liguria, Tuscany, Corsica, Sardinia and Tunisia). She is currently Director of the Museum of Montopoli in Val d'Arno (Pisa).rnrnHer researches are devoted to the problems of urban archaeology as well as of rural settlements and landscape archaeology, with attention to methodological issues and to problems of complex and/or low visibility. rnrnShe studies focus also on numismatics, in particular on the study of coins in their archaeological contexts and in the distribution patterns of findings. Besides she is interested in exhibition and in effective forms of communication of ancient and medieval coins.rn
