Robin Dowden


Robin Dowden is an independent consultant working at the intersection of technology and museums. From 1997-2015 she worked at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis as the Director of Technology and New Media Initiatives. There she led the department responsible for developing the Walker’s use of interactive and emerging technologies including the Walker’s websites, multimedia computer applications, mobile interpretive resources, and projects to create digital resources. From 1997 to 2009 she directed the development of ArtsConnectEd, a website that provided access to works of art and educational resources from the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Walker Art Center for K-12 educators, students, and scholars. From 1998 to 2003 she directed mnartists.org, an online resource for Minnesota artists developed by the Walker and the McKnight Foundation. Prior to joining the Walker, Dowden was the Collections Systems and Web Site Manager at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
