Birgitte Sauge (b. 1961) is Senior Curator at the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, Oslo, Norway. She has a dr.art. in art history from the University of Bergen (2003). Her research is focused on Norwegian architectural history from the 20th century, architectural documentation and archives. Through the years 1988-1993 she was the head of collection at the Norwegian Architectural Museum. She was also responsible for several documentation and research projects and exhibitions, such as Chr. Heinrich Grosch (2001). During the period 2003 – 2008 she held several leader postitions in the National Museum; 2006 – 2013 she was Research coordinator; 2009 – 2013 editor of the Norwegian arthistory journal Kunst og Kultur . Currently she is project leader /scholar of the research project ”A comparative study of permanent exhibitions in Norwegian Art and Designmuseums”. Sauge has published articles on museum architecture, architectural competitions and architectural representations. Sauge participated in the joint research project “Exhibnet”, together with InterMedia, University of Oslo (2009-2013).
