I am Associate Professor at the University of Turin, Italy, and Principal Investigator of the AHRC-funded Circuits of Practice project at Loughborough University. My research focuses broadly on media history, media theory and digital media. I am the author of two monographs, Deceitful Media: Artificial Intelligence and Social Life after the Turing Test (Oxford University Press, in press) and Supernatural Entertainments: Victorian Spiritualism and the Rise of Modern Media Culture (Penn State University Press, 2016). I am also Assistant Editor of Media, Culture & Society
