We are pleased to announce that after two years online, we’ll be heading back to an onsite, in-person format in the spring of 2023. We look forward to producing the onsite conference to bring the dialogue that connects as many professionals and the community. The location and schedule will be announced this summer.

Program Committee: We’re actively looking for individuals with a broad range of roles, institution types, places, identities, abilities, expertise, and experience to develop an even more inclusive and diverse committee this year. To apply, please complete the nomination form, or forward it to anyone you think might be interested.

Sponsors: MW sponsorship brings great impact and visibility in the community leading up to the conference, and throughout the conference and events. Sponsors and companies are a valuable part of creating innovation in the field. Interested in getting involved with programs and events, please email us at

Volunteers: We can not function without our volunteers and volunteer committee members. If you would like to share your passion and talent with us, please fill out and submit the application form. Volunteers receive full conference registration for the annual conference.

MW22: There will be no large-scale, in-person springtime conference this year. Instead, in the late summer or early fall (depending on the rise and fall of Covid) we will convene an invitational gathering of a small number of thought leaders who have, during its 25-year history, played key roles in shaping the ideas and formats of the annual conference. We will ask them to engage in an intensive multi-day think tank to talk about the current state of play in museum digital practice, and to forecast and imagine the field’s direction —in a way that is useful to the community, inclusive, and future-facing. The group’s work and conversations will be documented and shared with the MW community in the months following the gathering, though we are not yet certain what the format will be.
